You Couldn't Miss It

Some cars quietly wait to be noticed. This 1955 Cadillac wasn’t one of them.

I saw it at a local car show, and the first thing that caught me was the scale of that front end: the turquoise hood, the wide grille, and all that chrome reflecting the sky and pavement. It had the confidence of an era when cars were designed to make an entrance.

I painted it on a 36 × 36 canvas because a small painting wouldn’t have carried the same presence. I wanted the Cadillac to feel the way it did standing in front of it: bold, bright, and almost larger than life.

This original is for the collector who remembers when a grille could give a car its entire personality.
